About Me

What inspired me to start Ruby’s Care Collective really comes down to my passion for people. I’ve worked in the disability and aged care sector for over three years, and in that time I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside so many incredible individuals and families. What I’ve learned is that true care isn’t just about meeting daily needs—it’s about improving someone’s quality of life, creating opportunities, and helping people feel valued, respected, and empowered.
I’ve always loved helping people, and I found so much meaning in seeing the difference small acts of support can make—whether that’s giving someone more independence, helping them achieve a personal goal, or simply brightening their day with companionship. But I also noticed gaps in the system: people often felt like just another number, or like services were designed for them rather than with them.
Our commitment to compassionate care

Ruby’s Care Collective is different from other disability support services in Hamilton and Wagga Wagga because we bring a fresh, youthful, and enthusiastic energy to care. Where many services can feel clinical or routine, we focus on making support not only professional but also fun, engaging, and empowering.
We’re a young, passionate team that truly loves helping people live their best lives. That means bringing creativity and positivity into everyday supports—whether it’s building life skills, joining community activities, or just making daily routines feel lighter and more enjoyable.
Unlike larger services where clients can feel like just another number, we provide personalised, one-on-one care where relationships matter. Families know they can trust us because we value open communication, consistency, and genuine connection.
What makes us different is that we don’t just support people—we walk beside them, celebrate their wins, and create an environment where they feel respected, included, and excited about what’s possible. At Ruby’s Care Collective, care is not only about safety and independence, but also about joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Making a difference
One of the clients I’ve had the privilege to support lives with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As the condition progressed, daily tasks became more challenging, and both the client and their family felt overwhelmed by the loss of independence. At Ruby’s Care Collective, our focus was on restoring dignity and improving quality of life — not just meeting medical needs.
I worked closely with the client and their family to create a personalised care plan that balanced physical support with emotional and social wellbeing. This included assistance with mobility, meal preparation, and personal care, but also simple things that brought joy, like maintaining hobbies, spending time outdoors, and staying engaged in the community. By coordinating with allied health professionals, we ensured the client had access to the right equipment and therapies, making life at home safer and more comfortable.
What really made the difference, though, was our approach: treating the client as more than their diagnosis. By listening to their goals and finding creative ways to help them stay connected and involved, we saw a visible lift in mood, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Their family shared that having consistent, compassionate support allowed them to spend more quality time together, rather than being consumed by care tasks.
For me, that’s the heart of Ruby’s Care Collective — going beyond the basics to make sure every person feels respected, empowered, and able to live life with dignity, no matter the challenges.”
